Information We Collect
Dashly collects only the minimum information needed to provide its functionality.
When you sign in with Google:
- Your name and email address, used to identify your account
- Your profile picture (optional, used only for display purposes within the app)
When you use the app:
- Expense records you manually create (amount, category, date, description, payment method)
- Income records you manually create (amount, category, date)
- Categories and payment methods you configure
- Recurring expense and income rules you set up
We do not collect location data, contacts, camera rolls, or any device information beyond what is strictly required to authenticate you.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide the app's functionality:
- Displaying your expenses, income, and balances in the app
- Generating your personal analytics and spending breakdowns
- Sending you in-app reminders for recurring transactions (if you enable them)
- Responding to support requests you submit via the feedback form
We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core app experience.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Railway (railway.app), a cloud infrastructure provider with industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.
Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using Expo SecureStore, which leverages the iOS Keychain for secure storage.
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS encryption).
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data or financial data with any third party — period.
The only exception is the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (e.g., the cloud host), which process data solely on our behalf and under strict confidentiality.
Third-Party Services
Dashly integrates with the following third-party services. Their respective privacy policies apply to the portions of data they handle:
- Google Sign-In — Used for optional authentication. Google Privacy Policy ↗

- Resend — Used to send a confirmation email to the developer when you submit feedback. Your email address is included only if you choose to provide it in the feedback form.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access — You can view all your data directly within the app at any time.
- Export — You can export your expense history as a CSV file from the app settings.
- Deletion — You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. We will process the request within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Dashly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
